In this role, you will promote and sell used equipment, strengthen relationships with existing customers, expand business in new markets, and support Quinn’s strategic goals for territory growth and customer satisfaction.

Founded in 1919, Quinn Company sells, services, and rents a full line of construction, agricultural, and material‑handling equipment, as well as diesel and natural gas engines. As a Caterpillar dealer, Quinn combines local agility with the global support of a Fortune 50 company.

Wages

This position offers a base salary plus commission, with total annual compensation ranging from $105,000 – $150,000.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:

  • Promote Used Equipment: Sell and market used equipment to customers in construction, commercial, and aggregate industries.
  • Support Existing Accounts: Provide ongoing coverage, support, and service to current customers.
  • Expand Market Reach: Develop new business opportunities within and beyond Quinn’s designated territory.
  • Prepare Sales Contracts: Present sales proposals and financing options; understand equipment financing fundamentals.
  • Plan Territory Activities: Prepare territory plans, call plans, expense reports, and activity reports.
  • Maintain Customer Relationships: Develop, maintain, and grow accounts within your assigned territory.
  • Assist With Equipment Purchases: Support efforts to locate equipment purchase opportunities.
  • Generate New Leads: Identify and acquire new market opportunities to expand Quinn’s customer base.
  • Serve as Customer Contact: Receive customer orders and act as the primary contact for equipment inquiries.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work with other departments to generate leads and support sales efforts.
  • Support Customer Knowledge: Familiarize customers with equipment operation and features.
  • Enhance Quality & Safety: Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to safety, operations, and customer service.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of sales, activities, and business transactions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Work safely and follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Travel as Needed: Travel within and occasionally outside your territory.
  • Continue Professional Growth: Build knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and competitive brands.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven sales experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective presentation and public‑speaking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Physical ability to respond to emergency situations

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 1–3 years of related experience required
  • 3–5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Background in equipment sales, commercial industries, or related fields beneficial
