Reporting to the CFO, this position provides thoughtful, risk-based legal expertise to the Company. This role will advise on multiple areas of the business with a focus on Credit and Collections, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and real estate transactions. This position will regularly act as a business partner to the Senior Leaders as well as sales and operations personnel, customers, and vendors.

 

Wages

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $97,000 - $147,611

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

For aging customer accounts, the Associate General Counsel will send Demand Letters, call customers to establish payment plans, file suit when it makes economic sense, and perform tracking and reporting on related accounts.
Review, draft and negotiate commercial and transactional agreements including maintaining standard terms and conditions for each line of business by providing a pragmatic risk assessment on negotiated terms.
Develop a recommended process and procedures for contract management and administration.
May be involved with the lease or purchase or real estate in relation to reviewing the lease/purchase agreements and assisting with negotiations of opposing counsel.
Oversee outside counsel and provide insights into actions necessary to Senior Leaders.
Represent the company in litigation, settlement conferences and negotiations.
Assist in corporate governance matters and the development of corporate guidelines when necessary.
Participate in meetings with customers, suppliers, and legal counsel to negotiate agreements.
Support lead Legal Counsel with non-transactional matters as may be assigned, such as warranty claims, commercial dispute resolution, international trade compliance, and other legal matters.
Other duties as assigned.
Limited, overnight travel may be required from time to time

 

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school. Minimum of 3 years as a licensed attorney; active state bar license in good standing. Minimum of 4 years of contract negotiation/administration experience.

Background in corporate/business law. Broad transactional law experience; strong contract drafting and negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
