The Parts Counter will be responsible for purchasing, storing, and issuing parts for earthmoving equipment. 

Wages

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $18.75 - $22.00

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities of a Parts Counter I include the following. Other duties may be assinged.

 

•Utilize necessary shop manuals to ascertain type and specification of parts where required.  

•Utilize and become proficient with the electronic research tools that are made available through the company for use in assisting technicians with their parts needs.  

•Utilize and become proficient with DBS for which all day-to-day billing and inventory tracking is used. Become familiar and follow company and department policies and procedures.  

•Consistently provides technicians and/or Service Dept. personnel with updates on the status of their parts orders.  

•Expedites orders where necessary.  

•Inspects incoming cores from the Service Dept. and issues credit to corresponding work order to expedite the core process. 

•Reviews items posted to work orders and verifies accuracy of the order. 

•Promptly resolves any discrepancies.  Develop and maintain business relationships with vendors to order and expedite the delivery of parts through meeting with vendors, making telephone calls, or sending e-mails to ensure quality customer service is provided.  

•Compares invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received.  

•Maintain parts inventory lists through accurately tracking records for parts received and issued, paying close attention to detail and taking the initiative to resolve problems that may arise. 

•Requisitions parts from other Quinn parts departments when necessary.  

•Ability to safely operate electric and propane forklifts. 

•Process and acknowledge all parts returns by the end of the shift.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
