Quinn Company, a leading Caterpillar dealer, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting, financial reporting, and risk management operations.
This leadership role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and provides financial insight that supports strategic decision-making across the organization
Wages
Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $140,000 - $185,000
Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate books, records, and general ledger activity.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for management, Caterpillar, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain accounting control files for systems including DBS, CODA (Unit4), and other financial platforms.
• Coordinate year-end audit activities with independent auditors and maintain effective internal controls.
Financial Analysis & Operations
• Provide financial analysis and support to operating departments to improve understanding of financial performance.
• Respond to questions regarding financial statements and provide training on financial concepts when needed.
• Analyze accounting and business processes and recommend improvements.
Risk Management & Finance
• Oversee company risk management programs, including insurance coverage and claims.
• Support the CFO with financing activities, banking relationships, and cash management.
• Assist with preparation of the annual financing plan and regulatory reporting.
Leadership
• Lead and develop the Accounting, Tax, and Accounts Payable teams.
• Hire, train, and mentor staff while overseeing departmental performance and operations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years as a Controller or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
Preferred
• Experience with IBM or other financial consolidation systems.
• Familiarity with CODA (Unit4) accounting software.
• Knowledge of LIFO inventory accounting and MACRS tax depreciation.
