About the Role

As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician, you will travel to customer job sites to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair heavy equipment and machinery. You will work independently from a fully equipped service truck, applying your mechanical expertise to ensure equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.

Position: Field Heavy Equipment Technician
Work Location: Oxnard, CA
Pay:  $33.80 – $57.50 per hour, depending on experience and education

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on Caterpillar® and related equipment
• Use specialized tools and diagnostic software to complete high-quality repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal service teams regarding repairs and equipment status
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures at every job site
• Continuously develop technical skills through training and hands-on experience
• Deliver exceptional customer service while resolving mechanical issues in the field
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and other testing equipment

• One-year certificate or associate degree from a community college or technical school preferred
• 5 + years of heavy equipment industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
