Overview

Quinn is hiring a Monarch Apprentice Diesel Technician.

 

The Monarch Apprentice Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and upfit.

Wages

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $20.00 -$26.00

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities of a Monarch Apprentice Diesel Technician include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Install value-added components to loose engines and generators to meet customer requirements and design specifications.
  • Light production assembly, including: drilling, bolting and light fabrication.
  • Interpret basic installation drawings and work as a team to accomplish installations.
  • Ability to read detailed equipment and part diagrams/prints of Cummins and OEM products and verify torque values referenced from established engineered guidelines.
  • General shop maintenance such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, general maintenance, daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports, welder inspections and daily time sheets.
  • Comfortable working at heights using fall protection and proper PPE

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to read wiring schematics
  • Work in a clean, safe, and organized manner
  • Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

 

Training Provided on the Following:

  • Basic components of diesel engines.
  • Proper use of hand, air and electric tools for cleaning purposes.
  • Standard and metric measurements pertaining to tools and fasteners.
  • Assembly of diesel engines.

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods
  • Pulling, pushing, kneeling, bending, stooping and repetitive use of hands
  • Ability to operate hand tools consistently throughout the day
  • Operate/drive small machinery, including cranes to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to use repetitive motion with hand tools, as well as phone, computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Ability to see, hear, and talk with necessary individuals who this role will partner with.
  • Ability to travel by car or plane.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
